Meet Erica Lee

About Me

A Working-Class Champion for Sacramento

Hi, I’m Erica Lee, organizer, State worker, caregiver, and proud Sacramento native. I’m not your typical congressional candidate. I’ve paid rent, lived paycheck to paycheck, and navigated a broken healthcare system. I’ve stood by my parents through terminal illness, worked jobs from prison healthcare to grassroots advocacy, and spent years walking the halls of Congress, not as a lobbyist, but as a volunteer fighting for change.

I’m running for Congress because we deserve leaders who understand what working people are up against because they’ve lived it, too.

Ready to help send a working-class voice to Washington?

From Sacramento State to Capitol Hill

A Life of Service, Fueled by Purpose

I earned my degree from Sacramento State, juggling classes and internships with a relentless drive to make a difference. My path took unexpected turns, from touring with Cirque du Soleil to managing retail stores to working inside Folsom State Prison, ensuring incarcerated individuals received life-saving medical care.

After losing my mom to preventable cancer, I flew to D.C. on my own dime to advocate for colorectal cancer research and healthcare reform. I later interned on Capitol Hill, meeting with lawmakers about policy gaps that hurt real people.

This has never been about politics. It’s always been about purpose.

People Over Profits

Why I Refuse Corporate PAC Money and Always Will

I don’t take a dime from corporate PACs or special interests. I’ve seen firsthand how big money corrupts our democracy. In contrast, I’m powered by people—neighbors, friends, community members—those who chip in $5 or knock on doors because they believe in a better future.

Doris Matsui, the incumbent I’m running against, is a multi-millionaire who has taken hundreds of thousands from corporate donors, including the fossil fuel industry. She’s been in office since 2005, often unchallenged, and backed by Super PACs. That’s not representation. That’s insulation from the struggles of working-class folks like us.

One of Us, Fighting for All of Us

I’m building a grassroots campaign fueled by working people across California’s 7th District. Folks who are done settling for “better than the Republican.” Folks who are ready to elect someone who shows up year-round, not just during election season.

If you believe Congress should look more like the people it represents, if you want to see a renter, caregiver, and everyday fighter bring our stories to Washington, then join me.

This Belongs to All of Us

Let’s make history—for us.
